My favorite Christmas tradition is decorating our tree with our family. Our children are just as nostalgic as I am. They love it when I tell the story behind each ornament that goes on the tree. I love the mix of vintage and Winter Bird Christmas Ornaments. It definitely has become a tradition. We put Bing Crosby on, enjoy some hot drinks and just take our time.
Because I love to paint and birds are my favorite ( a second to flowers), for this collection I focused on the birds that stay for winter on our Canadian prairie acreage.

Each year, we get our children an ornament to hang on the tree. The idea is that they will have a whole collection for their own home one day. This year I am getting my son one of my watercolor ceramic Winter bird Christmas ornaments. His favorite animal is an Owl, so this one is fitting.

I love bringing the outside in year round in our decor with a mixture of greenery, pine cones and old window frames. The bottle brush trees give a quaint touch of nostalgia. The handmade gift wrap gives just the right accent to this winter setting.

Also, just for you I have this gift wrapping for free in the Free Printables page. These are my original watercolor paintings made into a pattern. Simply click the picture on the Free Printables page and it will automatically download. From there you will be able to print the gift wrap.

Greenery was used in many of my new ornaments for this season. I love the simple look of the Chickadee and the Blue Jay sitting on a spruce branch.

My favorite of the new Christmas Woodland ornaments this year is the Wren. Each ornament comes with a gold string, but I exchanged some jute twine to give it a more rustic look.

If you fancy more of the traditional decor, the Cardinal on spruce and red berries is a lovely addition to your tree. All of the Winter bird Christmas ornaments have the option of the year 2019 if that is your preference.

Check out the rest of Paper Rose Store for all of the ornaments and Christmas throw pillow covers.
