Are you ever inspired by a colour and know exactly what you want to create with it?
Recently, I went to the Fabulous Fabric Frenzy sale in support of @edmontongrandmothers who raise funds to support Grandmothers in Africa.
I found many gems, and this bright floral fabric was one of them.
I have been wanting to try a wrap-around dress for so long, and I finally did it with the pattern from McCall's #m8088
Of course, I made my own tweaks to customize it to my shape.
I love it! I must have loved doing it so much because it only took me 1 day to cut out and 1 day to sew!

Sometimes you need a redo.
You know, like a "do over" or "try again."
We can look at our mistakes, stumbles, or stortcomings as failures, or we can use them to do better, be better, and create better.
Like this dress, it needed a redo, a chance to shine.
I love how art imitates life or life imitates art.
Who knew there were so many creative life lessons in a dress.

I have never done a fully lined fitted top with princess seams.

You've put in all the time, energy, effort and money.
The day arrives, and the goal line is crossed.
You have imagined this day for months.
Now you are at completion, task done, goal accomplished.
What are you feeling?
Is this the way you thought you would feel?
Is this how you picture this moment?
Our tendency is to move on towards the next thing.
But I encourage you to pause.
Take some time to sit in the glory of completion.
Admire your work and give yourself a big pat on the back.
You earned this moment. Let yourself enjoy it.

This is a crucial part of accomplishing the goal that artists often forget. When we don't look back on our successes, we don't develop the tools of affirmation. We need these tools daily to move us onward.

The day has finally come!!
I have finished my lookbook for my new collection, "Jewels"!!!
I thought I would share the first few pages. This is the first time I have shared it, and I hope you love it!
I designed it to be magazine style. I am pleased with the outcome 😊
Big plans are being dreamt up as I write this.

This was such a fun and quick make as I have done

This was such a fun and quick make as I have done a few of these before.
Surprisingly, I made this reversible tank top with 4 fat quarters of crepe de chine from @spoonflower when they had their 50% off sale.
I knew it was a little shorter than I would like it, but it still has a nice flow and drape to it.

Are you ever inspired by a colour and know exactly what you want to create with it?
Recently, I went to the Fabulous Fabric Frenzy sale in support of @edmontongrandmothers who raise funds to support Grandmothers in Africa.
I found many gems, and this bright floral fabric was one of them.
