If you are creative, you know that there is a true roller coaster of emotions throughout a project.
There's,
Oh, this is so exciting!
and then
What am I thinking?
and
How am I ever going to get this done?!
I hear you. I go through pretty much every emotion throughout a project. There are times when I just don't even want to finish it because I don't like how it's going.
But if you prepare yourself and you know that this is the process, you will be less likely to quit.
In addition to being prepared for the emotional roller coaster, it's important to have good affirmations in place when you start to get negative and start listening to those lies your inner critic says about you and your ability.

This pattern, Pearl of Great Price in pink, is part of my Jewels fabric collection.
After following @kimdavedesigns here on the 'gram, she was my first choice to design, make and wear my fabric. And she said yes!!!

💚Green crush?
🍏I never even liked any color green until about 25 years ago. I say 25 years ago because that was the year I picked sage green for my bridesmaid's dresses.
I'm still happy I went with that color it's still very beautiful to me. I wouldn't wear it now but for the time and looking back, I love it.
🧶Then, it became emerald green about 10 years ago. I just loved it. Velvet and satin in evening wear is always lush and beautiful.
I even created an entire vision board on pinterest with lush emerald greens.
🧵The more I stepped into my confidence, the more green became the it color for me. Not only is green calming and refreshing, but it is also an automatic confidence booster when you wear it.

This is one of those projects that completely surp

This is one of those projects that completely surprised me. In a good way.
I was not very pleased when I received my fabric back as I had kept the scale too large and really wanted it to be a much smaller scale. Lesson learned.
I really struggled with what to make with the fabric.
When I finally decided on shorts I got a little bit excited.
And then I got really excited when everything turned out better than I had hoped.
There was no pattern for this just my pants block patterns that I had put together through a couple YouTube videos.
I use the zipper tutorial from a @sewoveritlondon pants pattern.
There were many hiccups along the way but I have learned to accept them as a normal part of the process.

I do love the result in this case. The "Adorned" fabric in satin is glorious.
